Museum of Science and Industry

I hope everyone's week has been going well! Chicago has been surprisingly warm this week (in the 60s yesterday!!) so that has allowed me and the boys I nanny to be a lot more active than we normally are on snowy cold days. Today I took them to Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) as a treat for Eddie's 2nd birthday. They loved it, so much. Every time Charlie and walked into a new exhibit he would just stand back and say "Oh....my....goodness". It was so cute. Anyway they had a really great time looking at the life size trains, race cars, airplanes, and tractors. Charlie was sort of scared of some of them because they were just so much bigger than they seemed in movies and shows but once he understood that they were there so you could "play pretend" with them he got over it. They're both obsessed with anything transportation related (IE: Race cars, trains, plains, submarines, boats, monster trucks, tractors etc.)

It was my first time going too and I was so blown away! It was so cool. I've always been really interested in science and finding out how things work so I was as interested in all of the exhibits as the boys!  The Space Museum in DC was one of favorite places to go as a kid and MSI is really similar to it (as far as hanging space crafts and airplanes). My sister and I always asked our dad to take us whenever we were visiting him. I can't wait to go back to MSI with adults and be able to look around at all the exhibitions properly.

We saw a new born chick! She was only 25 minutes old!

  1. Ah, they're so cute! I love MSI, I went there when I first moved to Chicago, and though I've thought a lot about it, I haven't been back. But I need to! Let me know when you're going with the grown-ups, I might join you! :)

    1. For sure! I'd love to go back. I'll look up its free days and see when would work.
