These pictures are from a couple weeks back when Leilani, of Thriftaholic, and I went to First Fridays in Pilsen. We had some time to spare before the grand opening of Modern Cooperative, a new furniture store in Pilsen that sells the most amazing vintage pieces. In the few hours we had before the opening we stuffed ourselves with delicious Mexican food, Boba tea, and paletas. Phew! The paletas were from this amazing old fashioned ice cream truck we chased down in Pilsen and the Boba tea is from Joy Yee's in Chinatown! Yum yummm. It was actually my first time trying milk tea and I loved it!! My friend Amy is obsessed with it and her mind was blown when I told her I finally got a chance to try it.

Modern Cooperative's opening was great. There was a good turn out and plenty to look at. Jen, from Jenstyle was there helping out her friend (the shop owner) as the bar tender -- it was great to run into her outside of the sales we do together. The wonderful thing about the vintage community in Chicago is that although it is a large community I feel like we are very close knit, almost like a family. I haven't been a vintage seller for long (about a year now) but everyone has been beyond welcoming, helpful, and friendly.

This was one of my favorite summer outings so far just because of the variety of things we ended up doing! It was a great way to welcome in the new season!
