Yesterday I got out of work ridiculously early and thought I would take my bike to a few thrifts close buy. I ended up biking about 7 miles to two different thrift stores, and one was in Skokie. Totally unexpected. The weather for it was absolutely perfect (75 degrees and slightly breezy!) so it was really enjoyable! The only problem I find while biking around in the city are the pedestrians, either walking in the street or just jumping out in front of me! And of course roads that don't accommodate for bikers but that's not a huge deal either. Of course thrifting on your bike isn't ideal - I had to fit everything in my back pack so I had to be super selective! Here are a few things that came home with me:
Top left to bottom right: Tribal print high waisted shorts, Cat & Bee Mugs, Strawberry Sweater, Arizona tshirt
I am really trying to take advantage of the nice weather before Chicago's terrible winter hits again. :(
ps: don't forget to enter the giveaway - only 14 hours left!

I wore this last night when Ismail took me out to dinner. We tried a new restaurant in the neighborhood called Pasteur, a French Vietnamese fusion. It was delicious! Ismail had steamed Muscles in a garlic sauce and chicken egg rolls and I had marinated sesame beef ribs and with a side salad. The restaurant's atmosphere was beautiful. Well decorated, clean, and simple. The exterior of the restaurant was white with green touches and the intior is ivory and gold.

Leilani took these photographs last week when we both were lucky enough to have a week day off from work. We spent the day thrifting around the city and then in the afternoon we grabbed some dinner at Antique Taco. Perfection! (More details about our day on Leilani's blog)
A little about this outfit - I thrifted this skirt last year and has been unbelievably versitle - I've worn it during all four seasons - with tights and boots or with a light tank top! This shirt on the other hand I've never worn. I bought it six months ago from Old Navy thinking the print and bow were way too cute to pass up but I could never figure out how I wanted to wear it! I honestly think it was because of the navy color but I really don't know. Do you ever buy something and let it sit in your closet for months before you wear it? My sister likes to say that it just takes a while sometimes for pieces to get introduced to the wardrobe - they need to find their place - and I think she's definitely right.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
